About Our Staff
Mark R Johnston, Au.D., CCC/A, FAA. Dr. Johnston has been a practicing Clinical Audiologist since 1988 and is licensed by the State of
Darrell D. McQuade, Au.D., CCC-A. Dr. McQuade joined Alamo ENT during
the summer of 2007. He received his Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders
from Texas State University and earned his Doctorate of Audiology from Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center in 2008. Dr. McQuade gained valuable clinical
experience through practicum settings that included private practices, physician’s
offices and school settings. His specialties include diagnostic testing of hearing and
balance disorders as well as rehabilitation of hearing loss through the use of hearing
aids and assistive devices.
Dr. McQuade is a licensed audiologist in the State of Texas and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Audiologists perform hearing tests, hearing rehabilitation, hearing aid dispensing, and ENG (balance testing) services. Alamo ENT offers state of the art digital hearing aids, and we service them as well. Any questions regarding amplification or assistive listening devices should be directed to the Audiology department.
Audiologists have earned a master or doctoral degree in audiology from an accredited university graduate program including theoretical and clinic training. They are required to complete a full-time internship and pass a national competency examination.
An Audiologist specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders in coordination with your Otolaryngologist. The Audiology department at Alamo ENT uses state of the art equipment to accurately diagnose a patient’s problem. Treatment can begin immediately due to our accessibility to a patient’s ENT physician.
